Probably daily someone says to me, "Enjoy these times, she's going to grow up fast." I think I am beginning to get a sense for that. In the past week alone Felicity has changed so much. She has a new favorite toy (her "Elmo station") at which she pushes buttons, laughs, and dances. I kid you not, she dances. She has a new favorite food (yogurt!). And a new favorite noise (a sort of loud bawking sound.) And EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. Needless to say, everyday is a new adventure and we wake up every morning n
ot sure of the major developments we might witness. We went to the mall today, as it was rainy and cold. Felicity likes to be out and about and is very interested in other kids. Perhaps it's because I have a baby, but I am more aware than ever of pregnant women. Today there were a lot! On one hand I have to admit, I get a bit jealous. I loved being pregnant. Feeling her moving inside me, reading all of the books about what was going on in terms of her development, I felt amazing. But there's another part of me that wants to walk up to those women and warn them. Tell them to sleep now. And go to a restaurant without high chairs. And spend a long afternoon drinking coffee at Starbuck's and reading. Because those things are going to be things of the past. Is it worth it, though? Of course. And I wouldn't trade Felicity's big, wet, sloppy kisses for the most perfect latte or a good night's sleep.
