Hanging With Daddy

Felicity is EXTREMELY interested in hats. She had quite a good time playing in the yard this weekend. And, amazingly, the hat stayed on the whole time!

Daycare Update

Well, it's official. I survived Felicity's first week at daycare and we're back for more this week. The daycare sends her home with a daily report. I am beginning to decipher some of their euphemisms.

1. "Had a few cranky moments" (Translation: She cried the whole time, you selfish, selfish momma.)
2. "Ate most of her food." (Translation: Threw anything healthy on the floor.)
3. "Was a bit sassy at naptime." (Translation: Would not lay down on her cot to sleep.)
4. "Likes to be sung to sleep." (Translation: You high, high, maintenance child.)

All in all daycare is going well. The women who run Felicity's room at daycare are fantastic. And they'd have to be saints to deal with me. As Chris assured me the other day, I am "that mom." I just can't help myself sometimes. While daycare was supposed to enable me to work fulltime, I am beginning to find that checking on Felicity at daycare and worrying about Felicity at daycare and shopping for items to bring for Felicity at daycare is it's own fulltime job :)

My favorite time of day is around 4 when we pick her up. By this time the kids are outside playing and we can watch Felicity from afar for a few minutes. At first she'd see us within ten seconds and run into my arms. Today it took a full five minutes for her to notice us. She was, afterall, completing very important business: moving woodchips around.

The other great joy of daycare has been that Felicity gets tired by 7 and is asleep by 7:30. Sweet luxury. On that note, I'm off to watch mindless television.
