So we're leaving the mall, which has become a place of great respite during these below zero days.
And it's later than I'd like, but Felicity needed to go down the slide "just one more time" and run around the play area "just one more time."
And she's hungry. Very hungry. But we don't have time to get a nutritious mall meal of pizza and french fries so she's angry. And I'm frustrated.
And I'm calling Chris on my cell phone as we peel out of the parking lot on our way home.
I want to tell him to put dinner on for her because it is likely that she's going to run into the house at the speed of light demanding food.
But he's not answering!!!!
And after three tries he's still not answering.
And I have a screaming two year old in the back seat who's speaking some version of whine that sounds like, "AAAAHHHMMMM HUUUUUUNNNNNNRYYY MAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE"
And he's still not answering.
So, I yell into the phone (not my proudest moment, granted)
"GOD DAMMIT CHRIS PICK UP THE PHONE" and then hang up.
And Felicity stops whining.
And for a minute I am glad. But then feel bad that she must think I'm angry which has the potential to incite a landslide of tears and more whining.
But she stops.
And there's silence.
And then this little voice pipes up.
"Mommy?"
"Yes, sweetheart."
"Who's God?"

Felicity and her baby "Beatrice"
This has to be one of my favorite things to watch! Felicity is getting very good at mothering her babies. She feeds them, tells them to stop crying, informs them of bedtime, and tells them that if they are good they can go to music class.
It's priceless :)
It's priceless :)
